GIS acquisition and implementation is a complex undertaking. Organizations and technology are in a constant state of flux. It helps to have some experience under your belt when making key decisions on processes, hardware, software, staff and training. TerraSystems has two decades of such experience to bring to your GIS implementation. In our GIS careers, we have supervised staffs of 40 persons, acquired millions of dollars of equipment, presided over multi-million dollar operating budgets, and managed scores of GIS projects to a successful conclusion. Below are a sampling of our past and current projects.

MAG GIS Database Enhancement Project
TerraSystems is under contract with the Maricopa Association of Governments to provide project management and technical review services for an 18-month, $800,000 effort to update their street centerline file, as well as a number of other polygon coverages needed for land use and transportation modeling. The website we have set up for this project is not publicly available, but this link will take you to a brief description of the project.

Tucson Water GIS Strategic Planning Project
TerraSystems led a intensive Strategic Plan process through the Spring of 1999. Scores of interviews and several meetings and presentations were conducted with Tucson Water employees. Information was collected and organized on a project webpage. That page can be found by following this link.

Pima County Comprehensive Plan Update
In 1988, Pima County Planning and Development Services began an update of the two-decade old comprehensive plan. Howard Ward was a staff planner assigned to the Pima County IMAGIN Project and worked with other planners to design and implement a GIS data conversion and analysis program. The results of this program helped lead to the successful adoption of a Comprehensive Land Use Plan by the Pima County Board of Supervisors in 1992.
